Flourish Massage Therapy

Located in beautiful Boulder, Colorado.  My goal is to create an environment where you feel safe, protected, respected, nurtured, and at ease.  Making time for self care is an excellent decision, and I want to support you, and for your time to be deeply healing and restorative.  Please let me know what I can do to help with this.

Hawaiian Lomilomi

I specialize in this work because I absolutely love to give and receive it.  Lomilomi uses long, flowing strokes of the forearm (effleurage), which is deeply relaxing.  It utilizes breath work, of the practitioner, but especially of the client, who is encouraged to use their breath as support in letting go of the pain, constrictions, holding patterns which we discover in our bodywork session.  Deeper, more specific work is utilized for those areas of constriction. Respect for the client, for their pain patterns, and for their ability to heal themselves is central to the healing/letting go/freedom that can be discovered during lomi.

Lymphatic Drainage

This is a method designed to assist the body in cleansing it's lymphatic system of the toxins it carries and excretes.  The lymph system is a delicate system of pathways running throughout the body, superficial to the skin.  The lymph system is closely connected to immunity, and this work is known to boost immunity. The touch is very gentle, and many consider this work deeply relaxing.

Client intake
The first step in understanding  your needs.  Filling out my private online intake form tells me about you, and what you are looking for in a massage therapist.  Please be honest and direct about what you would like so we can create it.  Doing this ahead of your appointment gives me time to consider what your specific needs may be.

Integrative Massage

Integrative massage aims to establish a basis of safety and comfort, from which a client can sink deeply into their own calm center. I begin with light contact, then proceed to deeper, as the tissues let go and open up. This allows time for the client to settle and relax enough so that deeper, more specific work is effective. The client is encouraged to communicate their preferences, both before and on the table. I also ask whether the depth of pressure is satisfactory. A variety of techniques may be called upon, depending on the needs of the client. There is no one set protocol.
